ONE BENEFIT OF THE US ELECTION
As the fascinating US election draws to a conclusion this week we can be certain of one thing … the world has watched two candidates of about 70 years of age compete for the position of what is still arguably the most powerful post on the planet. We have watched Hillary Clinton, 69, and Donald Trump, 70, on a gruelling and demanding campaign trail that could defeat many people half their age. Whatever your views on the election and the candidates themselves we can probably agree that there is great value in people witnessing their ability to deal with the various pressures they have been under, whether they be physical or mental. Examples which challenge preconceptions many people have about seniors being frail and insignificant is one aspect of this election which is to be welcomed whatever our personal and political viewpoints.
